The Season of Mist & Mellow Fruitfulness...

Posted by Kirsten Bridge on

Autumn returns after a chaotic and not entirely seasonal summer and the busy stretch to Christmas begins!! Early September dawns and the arrival of more trade shows and the discovery of more little gems in amongst the plethora of suppliers and products. Our commitment to discovering the "Best of British" design is as strong as ever in this wonderfully patriotic year. We were particularly delighted to find new ranges from all four corners of the British Isles, so from South Devon to Mid Wales, Norfolk to South East Scotland and with a quick jaunt over the Irish Sea (metaphorically...

Message to All Mums

Posted by Kirsten Bridge on

It's been a busy week, in a busy month, in a busy year and tomorrow it's Mother's Day. My own, precious Mum won't be sharing the day with us as she is returning from much needed holidays, so for the first time since arrival of no1 child nearly nine years ago, we will be celebrating Mothers Day for me!  Cake?... Experiences not objects - family camping weekends, concerts, walking on...

A Truly Splendid Event at Arley Hall

Posted by Kirsten Bridge on

A chaotic week this one, Cambridge, Cheshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire in 3 days, leaving the team full of festive spirit, and with rather a lot of cardboard boxes to take to the recycling centre!  We loved seeing familiar faces at the beautiful Arley Hall Shopping Spectacular and we were delighted to be invited to exhibit at the fabulous event for a second time.  Arley is a most gorgeous hidden gem of a country house, quintessentially British and nestled in the pretty Cheshire countryside and each year it hosts one of the best festive shopping events we have involved in. Designer-makers...

August arrives ... How did that happen?

Posted by Kirsten Bridge on

The eighth month of the year, already ... really? We celebrate our two month shop anniversary and what a whirlwind nine weeks it has been, and a steep learning curve too, if we are honest. The huge advantage in being eternal optimists are numerous, however the belief that, to quote a well recognised phrase,  "If you build it, they will come" seems to have fact as its basis after all! Kindness abounds in many places, often the most unexpected as well as the rather more everyday and the joy at rediscovering the kindness of strangers since we have opened cannot...
