Olympia, Candles, Cosy Cables and California!

Posted by Kirsten Bridge on

Well Autumn has well and truly arrived and with it plenty of things to look forward to and a few I will remember with more than a small smile!

We spent much of the early part of September at Trade Shows… the favourite job for all of us here at Lily and Lime as the opportunity to chose gorgeous new product lines and meet our designers to discuss their forthcoming ranges is particularly exciting. Our favourite is Top Drawer, although the small oversight on my behalf led to me insisting that one of the Security Staff at Earls Court was a poor deluded chap and stressing that the trade show had to be there as the Spring one certainly was! I was proved rather spectacularly incorrect and ended up at Olympia shortly after… Bob was infact correct after all!
Thankfully the show proved more than worthwhile and we selected several new suppliers for additional Winter Treats and Spring Selections. Personally I cannot wait to see our St Eval English Eccentrics candle range arrive in mid October. The combination of beautiful packaging and sumptuous fragrances will prove particularly popular I am certain.
Irish textile specialists Avoca received orders from us to supply their beautiful Lambswool Ladies and Gents Scarves and Camilla Snow’s Slate Cheeseboards should prove popular as Christmas gifts.

The inevitable stock juggling that this will necessitate, will therefore give customers opportunities to have a second chance to buy selected ranges of gifts at Sale Prices so entering the word Sale will allow the latest bargains.

Off now to wrap up in one of our Cosy Cable Throws.... I am wondering if I could wear it as a poncho or perhaps I will await the arrival of designer Nicky Thompson’s versions and look a little more stylish.

PS: I met rather a lovely man from California at the NEC Autumn Fair who certainly made me smile, mainly at the expense of my fellow Brits. Thank you Dodd, you brightened up a mediocre event and assured me that Americans definitely can share the same sense of humour as us British Eccentrics “across the pond”.
