June arrives with rain, a half-term holiday, the World Cup looming and the arrival of our latest mail order brochure.
Of all of these, the most dreaded for me is surely the World Cup, but it's just a personal thing... fair to say that the rest of team may well be dreading the next brochure mail-out more with a frenzy of labelling, double, triple and quadruple stock checking and then the telephone and website going bonkers (we hope) with orders.
The recent lovely weather has ensured that one of our best-sellers of last summer, the Whitstable Bucket BBQ has made a popular return now we have all perfected the correct gift-wrapping technique for these, life is rather less stressful when several orders arrive in a short space of time. If the sun makes a welcome return in June we expect our new Fire Pit to be popular to help to extend outside entertaining into the early hours... think marshmallows toasting and a glass of something lovely!
In recent weeks, we have been taking the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful outside spaces nearby with our little ones and rediscovered the joy of simple picnics. Our plans for half-term? more of the same with the inside-outside picnic debate decided on a day by day basis but there will always be cake, so all will be well!
Workwise, in the last few weeks we have discovered an amazing new British designer of bespoke artwork and we are thrilled that her personalised styles suitable for the chicest wedding and christening gifts will be joined by an evocative Vintage Style Destination Scroll design. A fantastic gift for travel lovers, busy businessmen or perhaps more simply those with an as yet unfulfilled wanderlust. Each canvas is created using a customers special destinations, be they a childhood holiday location, honeymoon destination or maybe a name on a tube route that has a particular personal meaning.
Plans for our pre-Christmas events are well underway and we are taking bookings for gift-wrapping demonstrations and ladies party evenings for October and November, to give opportunity for the all-important seasonal shopping, so do get in touch if you would like to hold an event or know of one where our unique selection of offerings will go down well!
For now, half-term demands call with the picnic looking distinctly more indoor today, and no doubt World Cup fever raising temperatures a little higher than is usual for this time of the year, so "The best of British" to the team and in the meantime, do check out our best of British products for a some welcome distraction...
Happy June x
